March 12: The shawl is made in two identical parts. The first 91 rows are much more interesting than the part that follows (about 217 rows, if I remember correctly). Therefore I couldn't resist starting the second part even though the first wasn't finished yet. I reasoned that I could always make the easier part while commuting to work, but the more tricky part needed concentration so that's what I did when I got home.
March 16 - both parts were progressing nicely.
March 22. Just started the edging, and as always, the first rows feel surprisingly tricky. According to the Excel sheet I made, 65 % of the whole thing is finished, and the edging counts for 35 %. I'll have to knit like crazy in order to reach the target, but it is not impossible. Never accept defeat!

Hello Anne!
Sorry to leave you all alone! My shawl is kinda stalled until I can get new needles. Your shawl is looking amazing!
That's beautiful! You're not alone. I just have been drowning in a sea of gift-knitting. Hope to CO for my own Kid Silk project soon.
I'm knitting this shawl, but not in KidSilk. I'd have to be hospitalized if I'd tried it in KidSilk - too many visits to the frogpond (spent a week doing rows 20-24).
I'm looking forward to seeing your finished shawl!
Hi Anne, I, too, am sorry I havent knitted more on my wrap. I think I need new needles with pointier tips. The ones I am using now just are not working and making me very frustrated. My first attempt at lace and KSH has been a challenge, one I hope I dont let RIP!!!
Oh, it's nice to see so many comments! Thanks for leaving a sign. The group had just gone so quiet I became worried, but there's no reason, you haven't left.
And just wanted to tell you that I'm not going anywhere for a while: even when Mondnacht is finished, I've got about 450 grams / a pound of it left in various colours, so it's just a question of finding a new pattern.
I simply LOVE the color. What is it?
best wishes,
Silvia
Silvia, it's wicked ;-)
black, in other words. The shade just seems different when it's photographed in daylight or using a flash.
wow that is stunning- i love the pattern!
